The team is headed by Nigel Young, who as the founder of the company takes a hands-on approach from the initial no obligation customer survey / quotation meeting to the final completion and customer satisfaction meeting. Nigel will personally manage your project through all the pre, construction, building regulation & completion stages , so as to ensure you have regular updates and on site feedback. Nigel will draft , agree with you & manage your projects own tailored project schedule & arrears stage payment plan . He will ensure that everything runs smoothly, safely and that you are totally satisfied with the end product. His background in construction & project management, qualifications to NVQ4 level in business & finance, site manager health & safety training , leadership excellence training & ongoing commitment to continual development means he has the ability to ensure you receive value for your money and that your project is turned into a quality reality!
Quite often behind a good man is always a good woman (or vice versa!). Young’s Builders is no exception! , Nigel’s wife Sonya provides professional office and administration support to the company.
Alongside Nigel is a team of highly skilled and qualified Tradesmen covering all the specialist skills required to deliver a quality project, averaging 25 years of experience and possessing qualifications to the CSCS Skilled Worker level. Included in the team are Part P qualified electricians & gas safe registered plumbers . The team is a mixture of family members & tradesmen who have worked for Young’s for many years , all of whom are focused on Young’s Builders Mission to deliver total quality in all we do.
Build & Design
If you already have plans this is perfectly OK! We are highly experienced at working with plans from various architects and sources. We will review them as part of the initial meeting & quotation process and if any errors or suggestions come to light, we will highlight these to you at the earliest possible stage! (It is our experience that architects quite often re-use text/parts of diagrams from other projects and not uncommon for there to be numerous errors.)
With the recent changes to planning regulations in many cases clients who want to convert their garage / loft or build a single storey extension / sunroom no longer require planning permission. As a highly experienced builder we can build small extensions/sunrooms without architect diagrams if the customer wishes to save the cost of an architect! You will still have a detailed quotation outlining size and specifications of the project.
As part of our quality service we will communicate with the local planning department on your behalf to verify that planning permission is not required and we will submit a building notice to the council/arrange all the necessary inspections to obtain building regulation approval .
Of course, if you would still prefer to have full architect diagrams this is NO problem and is once more included in our basic service. We will liaise with the architect and obtain full building regulation approval.
If you need help sourcing an architect we can help with this and recommend some very good value for money local architects. We also have local contacts in relation to specialist services like structural engineers, damp proofing etc
